About Us

With your support, we’ve been serving our neighbors in need since 1926. In 2025 alone, we provided more than $1.2 million in financial assistance to 43,000 Pierce County residents. We provided emergency shelter to over 1000 people in need. Through Street Outreach, we made over 3,000 connections with our unhoused neighbors in need.

All are welcome. We help those in need, without regard to race, religion, or orientation. Our programs include:

• Day Shelters: The Community Resource Center (CRC) and Family Resource Center (FRC) are safe places where community members from all walks of life can access case management, financial assistance, and have their basic needs met same-day.
• Homeless Prevention & Basic Needs: we help people struggling to pay for immediate needs, such as gas, rent, utilities, food, and more.
• Bilingual & Native American Support: wrap-around case management for resources & basic needs to empower our bilingual and Native American neighbors.
• Street Outreach: meets the unhoused where they are, providing survival supplies and building trusting relationships, with the goal of helping them attain long-term stability.
• Emergency Motel Shelter: we provide emergency shelter to families in crisis or during inclement weather events.
• Second-chance Employment: we provide on-the-job training and hire many people who are looking to re-enter the workforce and make a fresh start.
• Retail Thrift Store: we provide affordable clothing, household goods, and unique vintage & thrifted treasures to the community. We also provide in-kind support to those in need.
