About Us

St Vincent de Paul of Tacoma-Pierce County is a local, non-profit organization, serving people in need since 1926. We welcome everyone, with compassion, without judgement and a deep regard for our shared humanity.

MANY PEOPLE KNOW US FOR OUR THRIFT STORES, BUT OUR MISSION IS MUCH BROADER:

  • We help people struggling to pay for basic needs like rent and utilities, providing direct financial assistance.
  • We help families and seniors stay in their homes, preventing homelessness.
  • We provide clothing and household goods for people making a fresh start.
  • We hire people to work in our thrift stores, many of whom are re-entering the workforce following personal crisis.

In 2018, we provided more than $430,000 in direct financial assistance to more than 17,000 individuals and families in our community.
